Project Swann – Sometimes the right home isn’t the one you build from scratch, it’s the one you discover, fall in love with, and gently reimagine. After a long search for the perfect property, our clients found exactly that in this charming Queenslander tucked away in the heart of St Lucia. Full of character and brimming with unique features, it had the kind of soul you just can’t replicate — it simply needed a little love and a thoughtful vision to bring it back to life.
From the beginning, the goal for Project Swann was clear: celebrate the spirit of the original home while making the most of the large block it sat on. The design carefully weaves together old and new, with seamless extensions added to both the front and rear, and a major renovation that ties everything together into one flowing, functional home. Every decision was made to embrace the landscape, create natural connections between spaces, and cater perfectly to the way this family lives.
In keeping with the home’s history, the front extension, fence, and gatehouse are built using salvaged bricks from the original structure — a quiet nod to its past. Around the back, classic timber weatherboards bring warmth and continuity, ensuring the rear extension feels like it has always belonged. Inside, a contemporary interior unfolds, with a calming palette and beautiful finishes chosen to create a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.
