With over 50 years of combined experience in building and construction management, our team excels at providing solutions to complex challenges that arise with new materials and demanding sites. We take pride in being recognized as the HIA QLD Professional Small Builders for 2021, 2022, 2023 & 2025. Projects We Build
We specialise in the construction of architecturally designed new homes, and major renovations in Brisbane City and surrounds. While our team possesses the capabilities and skillset to handle a wide range of projects, we focus primarily on areas beyond cosmetic renovations and repair work. Our projects start at $2m and translate to a minimum of $5,500 per sqm.

Mitchell
Construction is in Mitch’s DNA. Since starting in the family business in 2007, he has evolved Watara Homes from its suburban roots into one of Brisbane’s most trusted names for complex, architectural residential projects.
While his foundation is built on traditional carpentry, Mitch has earned a reputation for his specialty in architectural concrete. He is drawn to the “one-shot” nature of the medium, a discipline that demands absolute precision and leaves no room for error. This mindset defines his entire approach: a commitment to structural integrity and an eye for detail that ensures a design’s intent is never lost in the build.
As a hands-on Director, Mitch acts as the steady link between a bold architectural vision and a client’s peace of mind. By blending two decades of building values with modern technical expertise, he ensures every project is executed with transparency, grit, and a finish that stands the test of time.
Operations & Brand Manager
Hayley
Hayley is the driving force behind the “Watara Experience.” With a diverse background in design, marketing, and project management, she ensures the business runs as precisely as it builds.
Hayley sits above the day-to-day “noise” to refine the way Watara communicates and operates. Her mission is to ensure that every client touchpoint is clear, consistent, and stress-free. Having managed several renovations of her own, she has a deep, personal understanding of the building journey and uses that insight to streamline processes and support the team.
For Hayley, brand is more than just an aesthetic; it’s a promise of professional excellence. By focusing on team training and process refinement, she ensures that the high standards Watara is known for are reflected in every interaction, building relationships that last long after the final handover.
Construction Manager
Daniel
With over 30 years of industry experience, Dan is the technical anchor of the Watara Homes site. A qualified carpenter by trade, he has spent three decades mastering the complexities of high-end residential and multi-residential construction.
As our primary on-site point of contact, Dan serves as the vital link between architectural intent and physical execution. He manages trades and subcontractors with a “firm but fair” authority, ensuring that the highest standards are upheld at every site milestone.
For our clients, Dan provides the technical clarity that makes a complex build feel manageable. Whether he’s explaining a structural detail or leading a fortnightly walkthrough, his calm assurance and relentless eye for detail ensure that the project remains organised and the “Watara standard” is never compromised.
